White Bean Chicken Chili and Mexican Skillet Cornbread

White Bean Chicken Chili and Mexican Skillet Cornbread

Sorry there aren’t photos with this one. You’ll have to imagine how good it was and ponder the beauty of this painted Mexican villa found on the wall at a restaurant in the middle of no-where, Texas. The recipe for this post was tonight’s dinner… so I wanted to get it typed out before I […]

Can No-Drama-Mama Survive the COUNTRY?

Can No-Drama-Mama Survive the COUNTRY?

October came and went like a gust of fall air and a whirlwind of leaves. We have been busy with making the house ready to sell, getting school books read, purging things from here and my mom’s, and trying to stay on top of the drama that always seems to find us (no matter how […]

Fed Up 2 Fit: Week 10 Update and 4 Things On My Diet

In the spirit of “keepin’ it real” here at Sprittibee’s blog… I will admit to not tackling the first 7 days of the 17 Day Diet at 100% commitment level. We have had people visit, dinners out, and distractions – which all lead to cave-ins. BUT. I have been good enough to make some really […]

The Whiter the Bread, the Quicker You’re Dead

I wrote this post a long time back and decided to update it and re-post it. This information never gets old. Sometimes you need to go deeper than just a “healthy recipe” and discuss the ingredients themselves. A little information about what we are eating can help us do the right thing in the kitchen. […]

Thanksgiving Meal Menu with Recipes

Usually Turkey Day meals require only one dish of us – since we have a large family and everyone pitches in, pot-luck-style. The year we did Thanksgiving Menu on our own – when we lived in Arkansas for a brief while – it took me two days to get everything done. I called my mom […]

Sopapilla Cheesecake

We really like this recipe… but let me warn you in advance, it fits NOWHERE on any diet plan. You can’t beat how easy it is, though. It is a great dessert for a church function and goes perfect with a Mexican meal. I couldn’t tell you where the recipe originated. I have two friends […]

A Healthier ’08

Bocca Burger and BlogHer want to know how we are making a difference in our health this year. One of their essay requirements is keeping it to 250 words or less, too… which effectively excludes me from winning contest right off the bat (I am a tad on the wordy side – which you would […]

Spritti Who?

Howdy. I'm Heather.

I'm a Christian Wife, Foodie, Writer, Homeschool Teacher, Artist....

OH YEAH, I'm also a Professional Event, Portrait, Art & Wedding Photographer - (which currently is the only job I get paid for).

I'm also a DIY amateur, Gourmet Cook on a mission to eat clean with good reason - I was diagnosed with colon cancer in August of 2016 (read: bona-fide health nut), and I have a cacti collection that is bordering on a business... a hobby farm we are just now beginning as a new adventure for our family... and of course, as you might expect living in rattlesnake country, I'm a gun-toting Native Texan (Yeehaw!)

I've been trapping Google-searchers here since 2005.

Bless your little heart. I'm so glad you stopped by.
