Teaching to Learn

Teaching to Learn

I seriously considered naming this post “That time I was swallowed by a Creative Writing English IV syllabus…” but I go to blog conferences, y’all, and I’ve learned that Google doesn’t like your puns. Just the facts, m’am. If I hear another person ask me, “What do you think people are going to Google to […]

260 of My Favorite Blog Elevated Photos

I’m a homeschool mom… yes – but I’m a photographer and blogger in my “other life” (read: scarce free time). I process life in words and images. Can’t help it. I haven’t had time stew the stuff I learned or connect with the people I met at Blog Elevated because I’ve been editing photos for the past […]

BlogHer Food 2013 – A Delicous Recap

I’m not sure I knew what to expect from a BlogHer Food conference, but I was certainly not underwhelmed. Having been to six or seven other blogging conferences, I was impressed that this one had so much to offer. Bonus: It was practically in my back yard – in Austin, Texas. It helps when you […]

A Texas Mini Blog Chat Retreat for Mom

Last weekend I left the kids behind and drove through the Texas Hill Country to visit a friend who happens to be a blogger. Lisa Pennington lives in heaven had the perfect spot to host a gathering – a “blog chat” – nestled deep in the scenic, hilly Kerrville area. I couldn’t help but sing […]

Spritti Who?

Howdy. I'm Heather.

I'm a Christian Wife, Foodie, Writer, Homeschool Teacher, Artist....

OH YEAH, I'm also a Professional Event, Portrait, Art & Wedding Photographer - (which currently is the only job I get paid for).

I'm also a DIY amateur, Gourmet Cook on a mission to eat clean with good reason - I was diagnosed with colon cancer in August of 2016 (read: bona-fide health nut), and I have a cacti collection that is bordering on a business... a hobby farm we are just now beginning as a new adventure for our family... and of course, as you might expect living in rattlesnake country, I'm a gun-toting Native Texan (Yeehaw!)

I've been trapping Google-searchers here since 2005.

Bless your little heart. I'm so glad you stopped by.
