The Demise of the English Language

The Demise of the English Language

I love to text like the next gal. I love my iPhone and tweet with the best of them. I can fit my political angst and bible verses into 140 characters most days. But what affect is texting having on this new generation of kids who are growing up with smart phones… ready to ooze […]

Teaching to Learn

Teaching to Learn

I seriously considered naming this post “That time I was swallowed by a Creative Writing English IV syllabus…” but I go to blog conferences, y’all, and I’ve learned that Google doesn’t like your puns. Just the facts, m’am. If I hear another person ask me, “What do you think people are going to Google to […]

Hope for the Night Owl: Why sleeping in is better for learning.

Hope for the Night Owl: Why sleeping in is better for learning.

Have you always kicked yourself because you weren’t a morning person? Have you secretly hated your alarm clock for most of your life? Do you look forward to sleeping in on weekends and feel better on Saturday and Sunday than you do all week long? Well, if this study is right, you may be feeling […]

Busy Summer Days

Busy Summer Days

I thought I would do random with you. It’s been a while since we’ve just sat down to chat at the computer – you with your cup of tea, me with my touch of crazy. So what’s been going on with us since the last post in July? Let’s see… a glance back over the […]

My Low-Tech Spiral Notebook Weekly Assignment List for the Teens

My Low-Tech Spiral Notebook Weekly Assignment List for the Teens

I haven’t done a homeschooly post in a while and honestly, we’ve had a difficult year, but we are trucking along. In the beginning of the year I had ideas of how things were going to go, but as the bible verse says, “many are the plans of a man’s heart but the Lord directs […]

A January Recap

A January Recap

Have you ever been just sucked into such a whirlwind that you felt you were doing good just to make sure your teeth were brushed and all the urgent things of life tended to? Like you were on a wild ride that kept you twirling? Sort of like this guy: Yep. Well, that’s what life […]

On Raising Godly Teenagers…

On Raising Godly Teenagers…

Having toddlers and teenagers at the same time is just HARD, people. I dare you to try it sometime. Lest you start going on about how I’m a saint, let me clear up the record for you: this homeschool blogging mama may have great intentions, but I don’t have it all together. My goal is to […]

Spritti Who?

Howdy. I'm Heather.

I'm a Christian Wife, Foodie, Writer, Homeschool Teacher, Artist....

OH YEAH, I'm also a Professional Event, Portrait, Art & Wedding Photographer - (which currently is the only job I get paid for).

I'm also a DIY amateur, Gourmet Cook on a mission to eat clean with good reason - I was diagnosed with colon cancer in August of 2016 (read: bona-fide health nut), and I have a cacti collection that is bordering on a business... a hobby farm we are just now beginning as a new adventure for our family... and of course, as you might expect living in rattlesnake country, I'm a gun-toting Native Texan (Yeehaw!)

I've been trapping Google-searchers here since 2005.

Bless your little heart. I'm so glad you stopped by.
