The answer is 8!
There were 8 of us making Christmas cookies, 10 of us eating them! 6 kids, 2 moms and 2 hungry dads that kept raiding the pans we took out of the oven. Yumm!
We had a fun time rolling, dusting, cutting, sprinkling, icing and eating sugar cookies with our good friends before we left town for the holidays. I love sugar cookies with a sprinkle of colored sugar glitter. In fact, I’m going to share Aunt Terry’s sugar cookie recipe over at Gathering Manna later today. I have to email her to get it first.
What are you doing for Christmas week? Time for Christmas preparations is almost over. We are relaxing at family’s house before the big gift unwrapping frenzy ensues.
Do you bake? Prepare a special dinner? Travel? Have family over to your home? We usually are on the road for at least a week, so we don’t do much baking or cooking during the holidays. It is fun to eat out while we are traveling, though. I had the most amazing chocolate cake at Johnny Carino’s this past weekend. Oh, my! It was like a dark chocolate truffle with a touch of cake… blending with smooth, cold ice cream. I decided that it was my favorite restaurant cake ever.
I think we’ll be having BBQ for Christmas this year. The family has voted down Turkey and dressing like we normally cook. I’m not sure, but I think Grandma Betty is planning to make Lasagna. What do you cook for the holidays? My favorite is a Thanksgiving style meal, but I also love Mexican food. In fact, my birthday is near the holidays and I’m planning to go eat at Pappasitos! Their Spanish rice is out of this world.
Whatever we eat, I’m sure it will be delicious. We come from a family of really good cooks.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday and a plate full of your favorite dishes!
Merry Christmas from the Bee family!
