I caught these birds having a convention on the power lines a while back… and it reminded me of Blissdom. Birds of a feather flock together, right?
Blissdom is a blogging conference for creatives, writers and bloggers, publishers, networkers, social media mavens, photographers, crafters, foodies, speakers, musicians, PR people, sponsors (companies who “GET” online marketing and love bloggers), graphic designers, website creators, and anyone who wants to find a way to marry their business/hobby with an online presence to increase their sales and/or share their bliss with the world.
There will be 2000 shoulders to rub, two for each person attending – many belonging to women that I already know and admire from attending other conferences and from networking with them online.
With Blissdom, you spend three solid days learning, connecting (networking) and cultivating inspiration for your online presence. In addition, Blissdom promotes your relationships between work and PLAY; showing you how to stay true to your first priorities – your marriage and family – while still rocking your message and craft, whatever that might be.
Adding to the PLAY category, “HELLO! Gaylord Texan!” What a fabulous place to get your “Bliss” on!
I’ll be there with a BIG FAT camera stuck on my face, a huge painted smile (Texas girls wear lipstick, y’all), and a swanky Southern accent to greet you with. Warning: I like hugs and collect business cards… and I often work for dark chocolate. So if you need a headshot, and plan to be around at the Gaylord Texan during the conference, just shoot me a DM on twitter. Ya’hear?
That was me at Blissdom 2010 in Nashville … with Darcy and Deanna. I adore both of them. They are talented designers and photographers and an awesome part of the online community. Birds of a feather!
My roomie, Deanna and I plan to take pretty pictures of a few lucky ladies. We’ll be doing a few sessions Wednesday and possibly Thursday night. We’ve been stocking make-up and rollers, and watching our Sue Bryce videos to prepare.
I can hardly wait until the end of March… but this will be my first conference without a baby and carload of children tagging along with me, so I might look a little lost. Pray for my poor husband and kids – as they will probably be worse off than I will. My teenage daughter is beside herself that she won’t be getting to hang out with me at the hotel.
Anyway, if you are going to be at Blissdom, make sure to say Hi – I don’t bite… but FAIR WARNING: I certainly WILL take your picture if I get the chance.
You might want to follow me on Twitter (@sprittibee) if you want to keep up at the conference. When I’m not taking photos, I’ll most likely be checking in on Twitter and following the #BLISSDOM hashtag to see what is happening. With THAT much awesomesauce in one location, there’s no way you won’t miss something great – and Twitter helps to minimize the losses.
Looking at this bad boy makes me jump for joy. I always rent the best of the best of the best L-series lenses when I do event photography. Maybe one day I’ll be able to afford to have these in my kit. Conferences certainly help to hone my skills and build my portfolio in that direction.
March can’t get here fast enough! Counting the days down until I have my luggage packed, my lenses in tow, and my SUV gassed up for Big-D!
I’ll be sprinkling glitter down three and a half hours of Texas freeway as I chase down my BLISS!
{ Hope to see you there! }
