You know me… skating in at the last minute. I live under a rock called “homeschooling two teenagers and keeping two toddlers from destroying the world”. Sometimes things slip off my calendar before I have time to get to them. But not this time! I still have 24 hours to pack a shoe-box for Operation Christmas Child! Guess what we’ll be doing tomorrow?!!
I love Uncle Si. Couldn’t help but share this sweet video of him working with Operation Christmas Child:
It’s easy to think that everyone else is doing this and you don’t have to. Just think, though – what if there aren’t enough boxes for all the kids that need them? What if your child was the one who was left out? What if your small gifts could change a heart for eternity – give a child hope that someone cared for him or her, even in their poverty? What if your box is the only hope they have after great tragedy?
Here’s Alex’s story… a story that will break your heart and give you hope at the same time – an amazing story of forgiveness:
So what are you waiting for? Find a local Operation Christmas Child location to drop off your box and get to packin’!
And remember… MONDAY is the deadline! NOVEMBER 25!
“Bring your shoebox gifts to an Operation Christmas Child collection point during National Collection Week, November 18-25.”
If you need ideas on what to pack, check out their site and watch the fun video there (written tips also included).
Can you believe that Advent starts next week?!
{ Ready or not, here comes Christmas! And as usual, Happy (almost overlooked) Thanksgiving in the middle of all the craziness. }
In Him,
Heather
