I used to create a photo or graphic calendar each month for the Homeschool Post and I really enjoyed it. I decided this month – hey, why not offer it here at my own site?
I need something new for my laptop anyway. I hope you like what I’ve come up with for June.
Sadly, I haven’t been able to do much field tripping while the little dude has been unwell – nor while my mom has been recovering from hip surgery.
I had to ask a friend (pictured with me above) who went on a family vacation recently to share her photograph with me. I was in awe of the view – and I’m sure you’ll agree, she’s a spectacular photographer and her photo makes you want to jump in the car and head towards Utah.
“Where IS THAT?” I can hear you asking.
It’s the campground at Antelope Island, according to Angela’s Flickr stream. I could live on her Flickr stream lately. #needstressrelief
She notes: “The campsites were completely empty during this off-season month but the view was beautiful.”
I’d say! I wish she had taken me in her suitcase.
The quote (I love quotes), comes from the web. Thomas Campbell, the Scottish Poet, wrote this as a line in one of his ballads called “Pleasures of Hope” in 1799:
‘Tis distance lends enchantment to the view,
And robes the mountain in its azure hue.
Distance does make the heart grow fonder. Maybe that’s why summer vacation has such lure when you are stuck covering the lingering school work after long breaks for health issues in a sicky homeschool year.
:::sigh:::
